Photo Challenge Day 31!

Sorry, there has been some mistake. How silly of me. 30th is not silver! What happened to me? What I was thinking! I'm so sorry, guys... Ok... moving on...

Today's challenge wants me to post a picture of my favorite quote in my own handwriting which I find weird. I already posted a picture of my favorite quote, how can posting it in my handwriting change anything? Does the challenge simply want to see my handwriting? Given that, the challenge could just ask for anything else other than my favorite quote. It can ask to post a photo of my favorite word in my handwriting.Which I don't have, by the way. So, forget everything I've just said. I just realized, I'm stupid.

So, to comply with the challenge, here it is...

To, at least, give justice to this blog, I'll tell you, guys, how I came up with this quote and how it got to be my favorite. It was during one of the hottest days on Earth and I was in my 3rd year high school. One of my teachers was discussing about something, and then, out of nowhere, told us this. From then on, it became my favorite quote. As simple as that.

During the final interview in the job I was applying recently, the interviewer, a woman with exceptional speaking skills (I was quite intimidated, actually), asked me as to how I deal with stress. Believe me or not, this is what I came up...

"To be honest, Ma'am, I don't deal much with stress. Simply because I don't allow stress to enter my body and ruin everything. Sure, there are times when I have to face a problem 'coz it's, like, unavoidable. But I don't allow it to take much of me. I still deal with them in a sort of cool way. And if there are problems that are way too impossible to solve, I just laugh it out..."

See what I've been pointing out since yesterday?

All right... have a nice night ahead minna :D

Photo Challenge Day 30!

Can you believe it? I reached my 30th day on this challenge! Happy Silver Anniversary to all of us :D

So, today's challenge wants me to post a picture of my favorite quote. Which I definitely have. I mean, this is something not all have favorites to. So, it's quite surprising for me to get out of the norm and actually have my own favorite quote. Here it is...

I know it's funny when you first read it, but when you give time and understand the very essence of the sentence, you'll get the idea. You see, we all know that life is tough. It has a lot of problems. I can't argue with that. Even the richest people on Earth have problems too. They constantly think of ways to get more riches to make them, well, even more richer. Go figure. But we all forget the other option of not putting much thought to a problem 'coz we are in too deep with thinking of ways to solve it! See the logic? Why think so hard over a problem that seems too impossible to solve anyway? Why don't we just focus on the other side of life and actually live our lives in happiness?

I know it's arguable. And I'm open to anyone who wants to debate with me. But what I'm trying to say is that life is full of problems. They are very much given. Wherever you go, whatever you do, problems are there. So instead of delving much into a problem which is always present anyways, don't problem the problem... let the problem problems you!

Okay, that's it! Have a nice night ahead :D

Photo Challenge Day 29!

A picture that always make me smile. Hmmm. Today's challenge is tricky. There are a lot of things that make me smile. Whenever I look in the mirror, I smile. When I see food, I smile. When I see my toys, I smile. Even when I'm sleeping, I smile. There's just too many. So, let's see... Urgh!

I tried my best to think of that special something that really makes me smile whenever I see it. All I can come up with is this...

That's a screenshot of my Facebook oldest albums. Now, don't confuse the screenshot itself as my answer to today's challenge. But, rather, the pictures inside each album. Each album contains photos that really make me smile! Old photos of myself and my friends never fail to amuse me. And in most cases, entertain me. But there are times when I ask myself, "Is this really me?"

Day 29 done. Grab a coffee and enjoy life, guys :D

Happy Birthday Special Girl!

Because Facebook is too mainstream... I'll make my birthday greeting here. Apparently, someone close to me celebrates her birthday today. Well, it happens every year but this is the first time I'll be extra cheesy (and a lot more effortful) with my birthday greeting. All right, here it goes...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FIDES REMILYN TAN :D

That's her, guys. Oh my, that's not her, you say? Oh, yeah. That's Empress. Sorry, my bad.

Well, here she is...

What?! That's not her again? Come on. But, yeah. That's Frencheska. My bad again.

This is it... here she is...

Screw me! I'm wrong again... that's Joyce.

This is final... here she really is...

Finally. I got the correct photo! Notice how much the first three photos look a lot prettier? *<LOL>*. Oh, I forgot. It's her birthday. I have to be less harsh. Besides, it only happen once in a year. I can give her that.

Well, rumor has it that the first three pictures are her face-sake. *<LOL>*. Deal with the term, dude! I don't  know about you, but, I think, they have resemblances. But you know what they say, never believe the rumors. *<LOL>*. Ooops! Sorry, I said I'll be less harsh.

This year is her 19th birthday. Can you believe that? She's 19. 51 years more and she'll be 70 years old. That's awesome!

So, what about her? Hmmm. Pretty much a lot. Let's start with 'how I met this girl?'

It was summer of 2008. During the YFC 10th anniversary celebration! I can still remember every event that took place like it just happened yesterday. Oh, yes. I remember it very well. The day my life turned topsy-turvy! The day I met Fides Remilyn Tan! Oooh... the horror!

One hot morning, in a place so loved by its people, a gathering of youths took place. And Fides was there. And I was there, too. So, you know, everything else is history. *<LOL>*

I really can't understand how we got close to each other. But one thing is for sure, it all started during that event. From then on, Fides Remilyn Tan remained a friend. In fact, it's even more than that! She's like a brother to me already! Oh, I mean, a sister... my bad! *<LOL>*. And now, she's one of the best family friends we ever had! And mind you, our family has a lot of friends. And she's, like, at the top of it. Let's admit it, that's awesome.

She's a giver, too. She likes to, uhm, give. She gave me this...

But, of course, she gave other people more than cups. She gave away a jacket, a watch, a bonnet, and a lot more to other people. But, hey, she gave me a cup.

And she likes to share, too. Just recently, she treated us with a Mocha Frappe from Starbucks. And on her early birthday celebration, she treated a lot of people to the City of Stars, Star City! Which, by the way, did not include me. *<sigh>*. Better luck for me next time.

She's a lot more than that, of course. I could write more, but I couldn't make myself write more good things about her. She might get used to it. And she might laugh at me. Or make me write more. Or kill me! Besides, I like teasing her more.

So, Fides, this is as far as me-doing-nice-thing-to-you goes, and Happy Birthday :D

There are friends. Then there are great friends. Then there's Fides.

PS.

You owe me one.

Photo Challenge Day 28!

No-brainer. Today's challenge is a no-brainer! Favorite place in the world? Piece of tiramisu! It's obviously my hometown.... Capul, Northern Samar. Look... here's Capul...

Thank you, Google Maps :D Here's a satellite view of my precious island....

Thank you again Google Maps.

And according to assignment-savior Wikipedia...

Capul is a fifth class island municipality in the province of Northern Samar, Philippines. According to the 2010 census, it has a population of 12,659 people. Prior to its founding as a town, Capul Island itself with its lighthouse built on the island, served as a guidepost for the Acapulco-Manila galleon trade vessels passing through the treacherous waters of San Bernardino Strait. It also served as the capital of Samar from 1848 to 1852. The name Capul came from the word Acapulco, an old trading post in Mexico.

Capul is the only town in the province of Northern Samar with a distinct language, Inabaknon, instead of Waray-Waray, the native language spoken by the locals of Samar island.

Capul is politically subdivided into 12 barangays.

Aguin
Jubang
Landusan
Oson
Poblacion Barangay 1
Poblacion Barangay 2
Poblacion Barangay 3
Poblacion Barangay 4
Poblacion Barangay 5
Sagaosawan
San Luis
Sawang

Capul has a different language from the rest of Northern Samar and the rest of Eastern Visayas. The native language in the island-municipality is Inabaknon. Inabaknon has been classified by linguists as a Sama language related to the Sama languages of Mindanao, rather than a Visayan language. Nonetheless the Capul people understand the Waray language, as spoken by the majority of the people in Northern Samar.

Tourism

Capul Church and Fortress
The church of Capul, built during the Spanish Colonial Period, is dedicated to St. Ignatius of Loyola and is surrounded by a square fort with bulwarks of dissimilar designs. The church structure was actually the third that was built on the site. The first two structures, made of hard wood and nipa roofs, were razed when Moro pirates plundered the island in 1615 and 1768. In 1781, Fr. Mariano Valero, a Spanish architect-priest led the restoration of the church and built the stonewall fortress similar to that in Intramuros, Manila that would fortify it against Moro attacks.

Capul Watchtower
Located on a hill near the Capul fort overlooking the town harbor, a stone watchtower was erected to serve as a sentry or warning system and a refuge for indigents during Moro raids.

Bitō Cave
Bitō Cave, also known as Beto Cave, is a popular natural attraction located in Sawang.

Timon-timon Rock
Timon-timon is a rudder-shaped rock formation located near the southern point of the island.

Capul Island Lighthouse
is a lighthouse on Titoog Point in San Luis on the northern tip of Capul Island, Northern Samar in the Philippines. It marks the western entrance to the San Bernardino Strait coming in from Ticao Pass. Construction on the lighthouse was started on October 1893 and it was first lit on December 1896 while the station was still partially complete. Work was suspended a month before on November 1896 on the onset of the Philippine Revolution. The Capul Island Lighthouse together with the Batag Island Lighthouse were declared provincial historical landmarks by the province of Northern Samar in October 2008.

You really are a savior, Wikipedia. You rock!

Day 28 is as easy as copy-paste :D

Photo Challenge Day 27!

There has been some mistake, guys. Two, specifically. First, my previous post about my favorite night as the challenge for day 26 is horribly wrong! It's supposed to be the challenge for today. And the challenge for that day should be about the thing that means a lot to me. There has been some mix-up. So, to cope with that, I decided, together with some jury, to just do the 26th challenge as the 27th challenge, and leave the 27th challenge as the 26th challenge forever! Second, I wasn't able to post anything yesterday rendering this daily challenge not so daily. It's not that I did it intentionally. I was, like so busy yesterday. But call me Superman, dude. I managed to get my NBI clearance, SSS number, and TIN... all in one day! See? Come on... Go on! Tell me I rock. *<LOL>*. I went home last night at about seven. My two sisters were too busy with the toppy so I had to wait for my turn. At eleven, finally, I had my turn. But blogger's down, man! Oh, come on! As in, NOW! All of time, it had to be now?! So, regrettably, I have to do the challenge today for both yesterday's challenge and today's. No sweat, guys. Two blogs for today! Hooray!

So yesterday's supposed challenge was to post a photo of something that means a lot to me. For starters, I possess a lot of things that mean a lot to me. So, for the nth time, I can't post a singly-picked photo specific for the challenge. 'Coz there's just a lot, man. So allow me to post five randomly chosen things I own that mean a lot to me.

First...

I know it's cliche when I say, "I can't live without my cellphone." But I don't care 'coz it's just true. I mean, at this modern era, who could? And cellphones evolved to smartphones already. There's more to a cellphone than calling and texting right now. You can do a lot of things with it. But, of course, it's basic use still remains... connecting anyone to that anyone's loved ones :D

Second...

You can't blame me for putting this in my list of most-valued things. Without this, the world is just a blur. How could I appreciate the wonders of life if I can't see it crystal clear? I know, right?

For a internet savvy like me, this is a must-have. And since four years ago, this has been my company in any of my internet-based journey. Up until now, this little toppy accompanies me in everything that I do as far as the World Wide Web is concerned. And this site would cease to exist if I don't own my own laptop. Own that!

Shut up and get rid of any funny thoughts you have in mind right now. These are not just toys. These are my treasure and at the same time my stress reliever. Whenever I see this, I couldn't help but smile. *<smile>*. Seeing these little lifeless creatures makes me want to wish Toy Story is for real :D I especially have a special space in my heart for those special Pokemon cuties right there. Especially special!

And, this next photo may not be "something", but above everything in this world.... the "thing" that means a lot, and I mean a lot, to me would be...

My family. I love them. No explanations needed. I just do.

That's for day 27, minna :D

Photo Challenge Day 26!

Favorite night?!? I mean, what's a favorite night, man? How can there be a favorite night? Everyday there's every night. How can I choose a favorite night out 8,395+ nights of my life? Come on! Is it when the moon is full? Or half? or crescent? or one-fourth? Urgh!

Kidding. I think the challenge wants me to post a photo of a night I surely treasured up until now. But, honestly, I have a lot of memorable nights! I can't pick which one is my favorite. So, let me pick one photo randomly from one of the unforgettable nights of my life.

That's me with a lot of unforgettable people! Regional Youth Conference 2011! Rock and roll! That was surely one of the nights that I will never, ever get rid in my delicate memory! That night saw us dance, sing, jump and shout in praises for God! One of the awesomest feelings a living human being can feel! Oh, come on! You gotta admit it! Worship takes you in the zone, dude. Sure, I had been into a lot of worships already! But not with hundred other youths! That's another thing, man. The hall was filled with voices solemnly and unitedly singing praises for God! Oh, how I miss it! Can anyone treat me a spot on next year's ICON? That'd be great.

So that's it! Day 26 done! There's a survey, by the way. Don't be shy and just click something, all right? God bless you all :D

Photo Challenge Day 25!

I missed it... I hope you, too. But the long wait is over, y'all... welcome to the return of the 100 Day Photo Challenge! Hooray!

Before I start, though, I'd like to apologize for the uber delay of the challenge's comeback. You see, I have my reasons. Reasons that I don't have to mention because it'll take us 2 kilometers worth of webpage to finish the list. And we both don't like that... so just deal with this.

I left with Day 24, right? So today is my 25th day of doing this challenge. Happy Silver Anniversary! I'm in the verge of tears! *<tears slowly rushing through my cheeks... and then LOL>*

Today's challenge wants me to post a photo of yours truly taken last year. A very not challenging challenge, by the way. So... here it is...

Well, that's me, all right. But I won't say anything about myself. That would be so narcissistic, man. Just focus with the stuffed toy just left of my head. Can you see it? Good...

So that's it with today's challenge. See you all tomorrow :D
