Thank You!

I had been thinking of doing this for quite a while now... but I wanted my comeback blog to be special! So I was thinking, ‘hey, why not write something special on a special day about a special person in my oh-so-special life?’ So here you go, let me tell you a story of a young man who along with 90% of the population had to go look from company to company for a job that would compensate his needs to buy stuff like Asus Zenfone Selfie, Nintendo 3DS, Samsung Galaxy Tab 4, watch every Marvel movies in cinemas, eat at all-you-can-eat buffets, and watch every DC movies in cinemas not knowing that his life will about to change completely in the most awesome way!

Let me call this young, handsome man… Harry. So, Harry, after trying his luck over things that don’t even interest him (twice) thought about getting into something entirely different from ‘that’ thing that doesn’t even interest him to, you know, compensate the abovementioned stuff. Thus begin the journey!

A little flashback… Harry, as handsome as he is, had no luck with love. He’d been with 9 different women: broke the hearts of two of them, seriously dated two of them (who in return broke his heart, you know, just the usual). As for the other five, they’re happy now, I guess. I just had to mention this because it has something to do with the rest of the story.

After failing trial number 1 in helping strangers with their I-don’t-care-if-you-cannot-do-it-just-do-it concerns for about a month, Harry, obviously, went straight to trial number 2. That’s when his life changed!

In trial number 2, there’s this part where you need to go in front of all the people and tell them something special about yourself. So Harry confidently told everyone that what makes him special is his love for movies. Coz, you know, no one loves movies. PFFT. Of course everyone had to do it. But Harry’s was so special that it lingered in everyone’s mind until this very day. He didn’t even pay much attention when someone shared about a Rubik’s cube and how that someone did this stuff but doesn’t really know how to do that stuff and stuff.
But when trial number 2 progressed, Harry started to love how things were, uhm, progressing… but I’ll not bore you with the details. Let’s hit fast forward!

December 12, 2014! Harry was courting someone for about a month. Remember that Rubik’s cube someone? That was a girl… Apparently (when things were getting serious), Harry remembered that she was actually telling the whole class that she worked on a program that computes various ways in solving the cube when she doesn’t know how to solve it her itself! Right? But Harry’s love for movies, of course, is still more special. Duh. The girl told Harry that she’s gonna tell him something after 8 hours of taking care of strangers’ business. So after 8 hours of taking care of strangers’ business, Harry and the girl went to this not-so-fancy diner where you can buy small pack of chicharon for ridiculously high price! Come on! Anyway, we ordered food, ate the food, talked about the food, how pricey was the food, and pretty much everything about the food when Harry asked her, ‘hey, what’s that you’re gonna tell me?’

And the girl blushed so hard her face looked like Tom’s when Jerry hits his foot with a hammer! Awwwww… Harry remembered how cute she looked! And then followed two hours of ‘Please… tell me already!’, ‘Come on, tell me tell me!’, ‘Tell me! Tell me!’, ‘She’s gonna tell me now!’, ‘Hey, there’s a bird flying outside, tell me now!’ Mind you, TWO HOURS! Two hours of excruciating excitement, anticipation, and worry wrapped in one! When finally she said, ‘I love you’!

Harry’s world stopped for a second there! Did he hear it right? Did this girl just tell him she loves him? I mean she loves him too? But he didn’t possibly mishear her! She said it loud and clear! After two hours, that is! She told him ‘I love you’ after two hours! Rubik’s cube girl finally said ‘yes’! Something that she later tweeted about.

So after almost 12 months of the most awesome and best relationship Harry had with Rubik’s cube girl, they are finally hitting their first year anniversary! First of the forever years they will be together! There is just one thing Harry wants to tell this girl…

‘Thank you!’

Sentiments of a Fragile Mind

Maintaining a site is one hell of a job. Well, not technically a site. But they’re basically the same thing, so, there you go. Especially for a site which is mainly about written blogs with fancy pictures (sometimes, with videos) that talk about almost everything. Not everything-everything, of course. When I say, everything, I mean everything that interests me. Why would I bother writing a blog that I don’t give a damn to? Isn’t that just plain waste of time? Who in their right mind would do something they don’t wanna do? Ooops. I think I hit a nerve there. I apologize for my lack of empathy to people who ACTUALLY do something they DON’T like doing. And when I say people, I mean, 97.3% of the total population of the world! Who am I talking about? I’m talking about those people who do something they don’t like, of course. Oh, wait, I just said that. Let me just state an example for you to get what I am trying to convey here. Let’s ask Annie. Annie is the first name that came out of my mind when I thought of using a person to set an example to. Annie also happens to be a little girl who’s gonna make her way to fifth grade this coming school year (let us all pretend that today is May 28, and next week would be the first Monday of June). Annie is also a daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Cadburry (same thing, first to pop out… I may be thinking of chocolates, right now) who are struggling with their finances. Mr. Cadburry is a janitor in a public school and Mrs. Cadburry is a full-time mom. Annie has three more younger sibs. One is 5, another is 3, and the last is 3 months old. Well, you get the picture. If I may be harsh, they are extremely poor.

Annie doesn’t want to go back to school anymore because, according to her, they don’t have the money to sustain the financial demands of her school. Yes, she’s going to a public school which is supposedly free. But out of the blue, they require students to pay for a lot of what-is-this-for-and-why-am-I-paying-for-this-my-parents-are-poor-we-can’t-afford-to-pay-this kind of fees. Which, by the way, goes on and on all throughout the school year. Bunch of fees the students don’t even know what for. So Annie wants to just walk out of school and somehow find a job and help her family feed their stomachs. Especially her three little sibs.  She doesn’t know. She’s just a child, after all. But she has to do something to help her family. Maybe she can sit in a corner outside a huge church which a lot of people go to attend the mass and beg for passers-by to drop some coins in a cup beside her that she took from a bin outside a huge mall. She’s thinking that maybe these people coming in and out of the church doing the sign of the cross are actually people with good hearts that would actually take pity on her. She’s thinking that maybe these people are kind enough to actually drop, even a peso, in her cup. There are like, hundreds of people walking down that road. If every single one of them would drop a penny, that’d be instant wealth for her and her family. And then she can bring something home. Maybe she’ll buy one piece of that roasted chicken she always sees on her way home that makes her mouth water. Or maybe, with a little bit of luck, she may actually treat her parents to see a movie. Poor little Annie. She has no idea how rough the world can be. She doesn’t know that even spending one whole day sitting in a corner outside an always-crowded church under the scorching heat of the summer sun can’t possibly give her enough money to buy that roasted chicken. Much more movie tickets. She has no idea that people may actually take her for granted and may actually NOT put anything in her cup. She has no idea that even if her intentions were clear and everything she’s doing is for her family, people may think a lot of bad things about her. Oh, Annie.
I hope you get the picture. Annie is doing something she doesn’t want to do but kinda has to because if she doesn’t, they’ll gonna die! Oh, all right. Dying seems little bit exaj, but, you know, it can happen. Especially when Mr. Cadburry loses his job because the school has to cut budget so they’ll just gonna have to let go of some employees. The Cadburry family, everyone. Two words. Life sucks.

And it’s not an isolated case. It’s happening not just to the Cadburry’s but to a big chunk of the world’s populace. Picture a pie graph in your head. And there are two colors: red and blue. If you could slice that pie to a hundred pieces and take 1/100 from that pie, do it. Then color that 1/100 red and the remaining 99/100 blue. Then put a legend below the pie graph saying, red – ‘rich people who don’t have to do literally anything but to breath and just live’, and ‘blue – poor people who have to do literally anything just to breath in order to live’.

Now, believe me when I say that most of us, including me, have to do something we don’t want to do but have to because if we don’t, we’ll die! I haven’t even mentioned Jonas and his story yet (again… first name I could think of).

Jonas is an average type of guy who has a job in a small company doing paper works. He managed to graduate in college and got his degree. But he ended up stacking forms and shredding used papers. He thinks he doesn’t deserve this job because he is a degree holder, for Gollum’s sake. But all the other companies he applied in require experience. Which he doesn’t have because he is a fresh graduate! The problem is just actually in Jonas’ head. What he thinks of life and what is life in reality are worlds apart. He firmly believes that we were born in this life to do the things that make us happy. Not the other way around. But alas, life, really, is not like that, he realized. Life will ask you to strive hard to reach whatever the highest goal you may have. And along that striving-hard-to-reach-your-goal part of life comes the striving-hard-to-reach-your-goal-but-not-really-happy-doing-it part. It's so rare (amazingly rare) in this world to find something to do that you'll enjoy and at the same time earn money from doing it. It's either one of these three: you have a job but you hate it; or you have something you love doing but no time for it because of your job; or you have time to do something you love but you’re earning nothing because you don't have a job. Thus comes the priorities. What to choose?

Most people would choose looking for a job they don't actually want to do but has to. As much as he hates to admit it, but we are currently living in a world that forces us to do services in exchange for currency. In short, you get paid for doing something. And most of the times, that something is something you don't enjoy doing. You just have to because, how the hell will you pay for the kind of life you're living? How will you even continue living without sustaining your physiological needs? And how will you get these needs if you don't have a job? And as if it's not depressing yet, life still asks for even more! The amount of currency you receive depends on the services you can actually do. And even most of the times, it’s not even fair! Sorry to say this, but if you're not willing to fight and does not possess what it takes to win in this survival game for the fittest, you'll end up the same person as you were when you started. In short, money, as sad as he is to say this, is equivalent to life.

AGAIN, believe me when I say that most of us, including me and Annie and Jonas, have to do something we don’t want to do but have to because if we don’t, we’ll die!

I’m kinda pissed with my keyboard right now. Other than being noisier than a normal keyboard would, its ‘space’ button is sometimes unresponsive. Everytime I type a lot of words without looking in the screen, and when I do, I see one loooooooooooooooooong word that doesn’t make sense. I have to go back to that looooooooooooooooooong word and put spaces in between the ‘real’ words to make it, uhm, with sense. That’s one thing I need to deal with everytime I think of something to write in this site.

That’s right, we’re still talking about this site. We were just sidetracked a little bit with Annie’s story and my opinion of people who actually goes to church but fail to help all the little Annie’s in their undeserved endeavor to help their families eat something for that day. And with Jonas’ story and my opinion about jobs and how they are generally sucking all your time to actually do something fun.  So, about this site. Yeah, right. Aside from my noisy keyboard and its unresponsive ‘space’ button, I also have to deal with my writing mood. Yeah, it’s not all the time that I feel, like, writing. Even when there is a good story to write, when I’m not in the mood, forget it! Like this one time, when I treated some of my friend’s and my sister to see Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, during the whole movie time, I was like, “I’ll totally write a blog about this movie and all its awesomeness!” When I got home, I was not as thrilled as I was back in the movie theater, so forget it. And then there’s this another time, when a dear friend of mine who just came from a place below the Philippines treated me to two movies plus lunch and dinner, during the whole time, I was like, “I’ll totally write a blog about this! How we spent two freakin’ hours walking around the mall, and even going to two other nearby malls just to look for a fancy resto worthy of our reunion lunch and how we ended up at the mall we first roamed around in! How much we enjoyed eating ‘Lechon Kawali Salad’, and ‘Chicken Teriyaki Boy’! How she managed to drink three, or was it four, glasses of Iced tea even before our order was served (God, how did she do that?)! How my mind was blown with Scarlet Johansson’s and Morgan Freeman’s Lucy! How we took bunch of selfie’s to commemorate this ‘selfie and twerk generation’! How we laughed so hard with Michael Bay’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! How we comment about Megan Fox’s bad and emotionless acting! How hard it was to open David Beckham’s perfume called ‘Intimately Beckham’! How grateful I was for the two keychains she gave me that I couldn’t even distinguish what kind of animals were they! How we met Mai-mai, the Razon’s of Guagua’s cashier! How we argued about meeting or not meeting three more people who happened to be in the same mall we were in! How we caught up with a common friend and eventually, our common friend’s friend! And how much I appreciate the kind of friendship we have!” When I got home, I was exhausted. I was not in the mood. Even the following days. So, forget it.
It kinda reminded of a movie called ‘Limitless’. It starred one of my favorite Hollywood actors, Bradley Cooper. He was a struggling writer in the movie. He’s a writer who, well, couldn’t write. Or, inspirationless to write. Or just plain idealess what to write. Or was it a mental block? Hmmm.
Aside from the things I have to deal with which are already mentioned, mental block is another. Let’s say, I can deal with the noise of the keyboard. And I don’t mind the unresponsiveness of my keyboard’s ‘space’ button. And I have a solid foundation of what I am about to write. And for some miraculous turn of events, I do have my writing mood. So what would I do next is open my site, click ‘New Post’, and start writing. I would first think of a good title and continue writing. Just write anything that comes out of my mind. And then mental block comes in! Right in the middle of the blog I’m writing! And even after hours of reading and rereading the sentences and paragraphs I already wrote, nothing more comes in! The whole damn thing is f*cked up! I couldn’t continue! So I had to stop and just forget everything! No matter how beautiful the idea was! No matter how much effort I put in! I had to stop ‘coz I couldn’t continue! I just can’t post something that’s unfinished! That would tarnish the little reputation my site has! Nada!

When I started this site, it wasn’t really about sharing anything to the inhabitants of the internet or about who’s gonna read it. Back then, I was just using it as no-expiry, limitless storage of the things that I love. Some sort of a diary. Or a journal. Something like that. A reminder of the stuff that l love, ‘coz I’m afraid, I might forget about them and eventually lead to a boring life. Though it’s public, I never really thought people would give time opening the site and reading the things inside. No. it was just for me and everything that defines me. That’s why I called it dictionaryofme. Everything you’ll gonna find inside the site is about me. But through the years of the site's existence, a few people actually recognized it and commended me for creating it. That's when this site's purpose somehow expanded that I actually think of the people who look forward for a new blog. So from blogs about Pokemon, to blogs about my closest friends, to blogs about my beloved YFC family, the site grew to including blogs about awards, to blogs about new phones, to blogs about movies and why I hate or love them, to blogs about a 100 day photo challenge, to blogs about awesome photos and memes, to blogs about answering surveys, even to blogs about the National Toy Hall of Fame! And maybe, I could even write about something that really matters, like, nationally or internationally matters. A blog that will say something. So from being a diary, it actually became a responsibility.

My point? Simple. It’s not an easy thing to do. Writing, that is. But it all pays off when even just one opened the site and read the latest blog. Just one.  Heck, I’m not even a good writer. I don’t think much of my sentence construction and the vastness of my vocabulary which is not really, uhm, vast. I just write anything I think about. But still, I’m writing. So that kind of make me a writer, right?

Just one more thing. So what does Annie’s and Jonas’s stories have to do with my problems with writing? Simple again. But this, I’ll let you think about it :D

Sorry for the long post. Here’s a potato.

Photo Challenge Day 43!

Celebrations :D Having celebrations is one of life's many wonders. Especially when you are a Filipino. There's just a lot of things Filipinos are celebrating for. There's baptism, birthdays, weddings, fiestas, graduation, Christmas Eve (Noche Buena), New Year's Eve (Media Noche) and all those other common occasions that we usually celebrate. But there's also she-finally-said-yes!, I-got-promoted!, and I-just-wanna-celebrate-for-nothing-really-special! See? Especially in rural areas. Or in the province. Wherever you go, in every corner, pips are gathered around a table with liquor and stuff on it, drinking to really nothing special. It's either they just wanna have some fun, somebody in the group is heartbroken, somebody won the lottery, they just wanna slowly kill their internal organs, they just wanna say goodbye to this cruel world, they just wanna cry or something, they wanna smash their phones, they wanna sink their phones in the aquarium, they wanna let off some steam, they wanna say something they couldn't say when they're sober, they don't wanna know how it feels to NOT be drunk, or they just wanna drink. That's enough reason to celebrate, really.

So today's challenge wants me to post a photo of myself celebrating. Let's do this...

This was during my sister's 15th birthday :D Totally a lot of years ago. Look at me! Look at the three Coke in there! They look ancient :D

Sorry for the head twist or something. This was during a family reunion where you pretend that you know everyone :D You see, I was one of the first few to start the queue for the buffet. If I fall in line a little bit late, that lechon wouldn't look like that. You can't even recognize if it's lechon anymore!

Sorry for that. This was during a send-off or something. That pancit was really delicious :D

This is an example of a celebration with no special occasion really. Me and some of my high school friends went to this place and just had of hell of a time with each other :D I miss them.

You couldn't tell it by the picture itself but me and that kid there was actually in a wedding. That kid, by the way, is my first ever godchild! I have 16 today. Good job for him :D

That's two of my most valuable friends in college. This again was uncalled for. One day, in the most unsepcial day, they were, like, "Yeah, let's go to the beach and eat spaghetti'. And I was, like, "That'd be awesome!'

That's my college best friends. We call ourselves BATIBOT or Blank and The Incredible Babies of Tomorrow. Pretty cute, huh? Wait 'till you here our individual hero names :D

This is me and some of college friends. We were in a friend's house for the Bobon Fiesta in this picture. Looks like we're waiting for the hey-come-on-yuo-guys-and-start-eating signal :D

I miss that sexy body! *<LOL>*. We were on our way (I'm with the one who took the photo) to Catarman to be part of its fiesta celebration :D

I'm with BATIBOT again. But this time, we were celebrating our one year friendship anniversary. Aaawww...

And lastly, my own hometown's fiesta celebration 2011! It's not really the fiesta yet in this picture. It's what we call 'bispera' or the day before the fiesta. We also have 'anti' and 'liwas'. That's two days before and one day after, respectively. Some places, actually, celebrate those four! Quite lavish.

So, that's it. I wanted to post more, but my Facebook album page is acting crazy. But, that would suffice :D Have a nice day ahead, minna :D

Photo Challenge Day 41!

Hi, guys. I have some announcement to make before I went to today's photo challenge. I've just started my work last night and it pretty took much of my supposed sleeping time. I was wide awake for 9 straight hours! 10 pm to 7 am! But I'm not complaining. All I'm saying is that I may, again, not be able to do this on a daily basis. There might come a time where I just go straight home, sleep, wake up, eat, take a bath and go to work again. Leaving me no time to even look at my Facebook news feed. Wait, after taking a bath, I'll change to some decent office clothes first. We all don't want me to go to work naked, right?

But, of course, it all depends on the situation. If, let's say, I still have the energy to do this before I go to sleep, or after waking up, or even while I'm asleep, then fine, I'll do it. So, moving on...

Favorite weather. How is this even consider a logical challenge? I think everyone prefers nice weather to bad weather, right? So that's it, my favorite weather is, uhm, nice weather. Weathers like these...

Am I making sense here. I'm right, right? Is it normal for people to just classify weather to two? Like, nice and bad? It's normal, right?

So, goodbye, guys. Have a nice Tuesday :D

Hey, I, actually, have a question that needs answering. It's on the upper right side of the site. Just click something there. Thank you.

Photo Challenge Day 40!

Today's challenge, again, is absurd. I mean, for me, I think. 'Coz I have absurd ways of comprehending everything. I don't have a favorite pair of shoes, for Lord Voldemort's sake! My shoes don't last long enough for me to pick my favorite. It's either they become worn out, run out of fashion sense, too much used, or just die. And, hey, let's define 'favorite'.

According to merriam-webster.com:

one that is treated or regarded with special favor or liking.
a person who is specially loved, trusted, or provided with favors by someone of high rank or authority.

According to thefreedictionary.com:

a. One that enjoys special favor or regard.
b. One that is trusted, indulged, or preferred above all others, especially by a superior.

According to dictionary.reference.com:

1. a person or thing regarded with special favor or preference.
2. Sports. a competitor considered likely to win.
3. a person or thing popular with the public.
4. a person treated with special or undue favor by a king, official, etc.

According to oxforddictionaries.com:

A person or thing that is preferred to all others of the same kind or is especially well liked.

Four different dictionary sites, telling us basically the same thing. And all those definitions don't apply to my shoes. Sorry. But if I'd be given the chance to post photos of shoes I would really, really, really want to have, it's these...

If ever I'll have even one of these, I'll definitely make it my favorite.

Good day ahead, minna :D

Surveys are Kawaii 2 :D

So answering surveys is so fun I decided to answer another one. Just bear with me, okay? Thank you.

1. When you wash your hands, do you use the cold or hot tap (faucet)?

- I'm accustomed to cold tap. In fact, I never knew hot tap exists.

2. If you had to be straight/gay for a day (whichever you’re currently not!), what celebrity would you most like to take on a date?

- What celebrity? Really?

3. What is the biggest injury you've ever sustained and how did you do it?

- I think it was on my 3rd year in high school. I really got this bad landing when I tried to block in a volleyball game. My ankle twisted causing a huge lump. I couldn't walk by myself! A friend of mine assisted me home. And I had to endure the pain for a week before I can finally walk straight.

4. What is the most unusual food you've ever eaten?

- How do you define unusual? I think I've never eaten anything unusual.

5. What is the most unique animal you've ever touched?

- During a weekend trip to Tagaytay, I got the opportunity to hold a small alligator and posed for a picture with it.

6. What’s the most expensive gift you've ever bought for someone? How much did it cost and who was it for?

- To tell you honestly, whoever you are, I never gave anyone something worthy to be called expensive. Sorry.

7. Which 3 countries would you LEAST like to live in and why?

- Antartica. Do I even have to explain why?
- Africa. I'm afraid of wild lions.
- Egypt. I'm afraid of mummies.

8. If you could make just ONE change to this world, what would it be and why?

-I'd like the world to have Wi-Fi wherever you go. With no passwords. And with, like, 148 gb per second.

9. If you could wake up tomorrow and be fluent in 3 additional languages, which would you choose?

- French, Spanish, and Japanese.

10. Which would you rather out of these 3 options? A: Be good looking and extremely intelligent but so poor you live on the streets. B: Be extremely intelligent and a millionaire but what society classes as ugly. Or C: Be good looking and a millionaire but extremely academically challenged? Why?

I'd choose nothing. Come on, man, every choice has some bad thing in it. Why can't I be good looking, intelligent and rich all at the same time?

11. What are the top 10 movies to make you cry? (Or at least make you sad!)

- I really don't wanna do this.

12. What’s the scariest nightmare you’ve ever had? Describe it in detail.

- Honestly, I never had any nightmares, for, like, forever.

13. Would you rather raise 25 children or have the chance of ever having children taken away? Why?

- What is this?

14. Would you rather go on a relaxing beach type holiday to the Caribbean, a cultural holiday to Japan or an adventure packed holiday to South Africa?

- Definitely cultural holiday to Japan.

15. If you went to a desert island for just 6 months but could only take one album with you, what would you take?

- Album as in photos or album as in music? Be specific, man :D
16. Put these in order of your favourite movie genre to least: Horror, action, thriller, adventure, superhero, romance, drama, comedy, musical and dance?

- Superhero, adventure, comedy, action, thriller, romance, horror, musical, dance and drama.

17. If you had to lose one of the 5 senses, which would you choose and why?

- I'd say, smell. Simply because I can't bear not to see, to hear, to taste, and to touch.

18. What have been the top 3 most brilliant days of this year? Describe them in as much or as little detail as you like.

- Oh, man. This is hard. I rather not think too much about this. Sorry.

19. What do you believe we as human beings take most for granted in this world?

- Uhm, dust. We just don't give a damn about dust. Why?!? *<LOL>*

20. How many concerts have you been to in your life and which was your favourite? If you’ve not been to one, who would you most like to see?

- I feel so sad. I've never been into any concert. *<wails>*

Thanks for the time :D

Photo Challenge Day 39!

I wouldn't mess when it comes to food. My favorite food ever since I'd come to my senses is...

I'm not kidding. This is me being serious. When it comes to food, I don't play fool. When I was in elementary, slum books were a hip. Almost all my girl classmates had one. And in every slum book I received for answering, there's always 'What is your favorite food?'. And 'longganisa' had always been my answer. Yum Yum :D

But, to tell you honestly, I really don't care about what to eat. When I'm hungry, I eat.

That's it for today. Good night, minna :D

Photo Challenge Day 38!

I have been to sorrow, I have been to bliss. Where I'll be tomorrow, I can only guess...

Ooops... Sorry! I was singing Leah's Journey. For some reason, it got into my mind and my fingers won't stop typing the lyrics. For those of you who might not know it yet, there's a singer inside me, as well. I'm every bit as Ogie Alcasid himself. The problem is, it's still inside. *<sigh>*

Today's challenge is easy. My favorite drink has always been...

I share this love with millions of people around the globe. Coca Cola or simply Coke has been in the business for, like, more than hundred years now. Simply astounding. Who would have thought that our ancestors from hundred years ago were able to enjoy life simply because they have Coke? Awesome :D

But now, I'm taking the toll a little bit down. As much as possible, I don't wanna drink it anymore. As good as it tastes, there are drawbacks, of course. I saw this video on Youtube where a geeky looking guy tried to boil Coke until no more liquid remained. What remained, however, is tar-looking caramelized sugar (and all other chemicals too). Plenty of sugar (and all other chemicals too), actually. The geeky looking guy stirred the substance that remained and it was icky! Like, black icky! How come a small bottle of Coke contain that much sugar? Well, I'm still investigating the reliability of the video. To make sure it's not just a silly attempt to degrade the Coca Cola company. But unless I'm done with it, I'll try my best to avoid Coke. Which I failed to do just this afternoon. I had my lunch at Chowking. And, guess what, the drink was Coke. Word!

Silly me. But, anyway, have a good night ahead, minna :D

Photo Challenge Day 37!

I've been in three schools. One for elementary, another for high school, and another again for college. So I, actually, have three choices for the challenge today. I could do the three, actually, and post one picture taken at school for the three of them. But there's just some glitch. Cameras during my elementary and high school years were for the rich kids only. Things like selfie are non-existent yet. I do have pictures back then. But only for the specialest of all the special occasions like recognition day, recognition day, recognition day, recognition day, recognition day, and graduation day. And all of them are from the most ancient camera ever! And you have to hand over the negatives to a specialist before you can see the pictures you've taken. Unlike today. You also need to make sure that every shot you'll take would be worth it 'coz the film is sooooooooooooooo limited! Unlike today. You can't take selfie 'coz there's no assurance if it'll look good when it comes out. Unlike today. When the photos come out and it shows the worst angle of you could ever possibly have, there's no backing out 'coz you can't edit it. Unlike today. So much unlike today...

So, here's a picture of myself taken at my college...

This was one of the most exhaustive part of my college life. I ran for 10 kilometers in this physically-torturing fun run! Why do they even call it 'fun run'? How can straining my feet to the point that I can't even walk be fun? The guys in black jersey are me and two of my best buddies in college. The people in red were from the Red Cross. They were present during the fun run to ensure noone dies :D

This happened when we had a super duper general cleaning in two of our rooms in the college. Look at me and tell me i's not super duper. Since when did a general cleaning include sawing?

That moronic girl holding the hot sauce is one of my best friends in college. Her favorite food is, of course, and without a doubt, hot sauce. This was taken at our favorite hangout every after classes, Uelle's eatery! Don't ask me how to say that properly. Up until this moment, I have no idea.

That another moronic face holding a certificate is another best friend of mine in college. This was taken at our university's gymnatorium. It was during this time that we got ourselves recognized for, eherm, academic excellence :D And I'm honored, of course. Academic scholars are rare.

And, finally, this! Me and most of my classmates from college. This was taken after our final defense for our thesis. You know, to let off some steam. This was actually fun. One of the last events in college before we went on with our lives. Most of them are away now. But, we're still connected, of course. There's Facebook, man :D

I know I said one picture. But I got a little bit excited. Forgive me but it's unerasable :D Happy night everyone :D

Photo Challenge Day 36!

If I have to be literal about today's challenge and post something that I can't function without, that would be...

Come on, guys, we all know we really can't function if we don't have our hearts and our brains. And that's a fact, ladies and gentlemen. These are the two most important parts of a human being's body. And I am a human being, so , go figure.

That's it for today :D

Photo Challenge Day 34!

Before anything else, minna, Happy First of July! I know there isn't something special about it, but I just wanna say it, so, what the heck.

I regret to say these to you but today's blog for the daily photo challenge is a no-show. The challenge wants me to post a picture of my dream house. Which, unfortunately, I don't have. You see, I have own view about it. I'm that kind of person who can live just about anywhere. And when I have something to live at, I do my own improvements, depending on what the house can offer. It's hard to think and imagine all those fancy things you wanna do to your own home and just disappoint yourself because the house you're currently into can't accommodate the ideas you have. To simply put it, to have a dream house is to have money.

So sorry, minna :D But, no sweat, there is still 66 days left :D

Photo Challenge Day 32!

This is easy. My favorite place to eat is simply...

Yeah! Jollibee :D Where deliciousness is the star! *<LOL>*. But let me just clear something a bit. I did not choose Jollibee to be my favorite place to eat simply because I love Jollibee. I'm quite a gourmet myself. I love experimenting when it comes to food. I like to try different cuisines from different countries. The only problem is money. I just don't have the money to do some restaurant-hopping and just eat whenever and wherever I like it. If I were in a different financial state, I would choose a a lot more classy resto. Like Kitso which can be found in Japan. A meal per person can cost as much as $600! How in the name of Gandalf the Grey can a meal cost as much as $600?!? Six hundred dollars! That's, like, Php 25,000! I'm gonna faint!

But I have to stick with budget friendly restos, you know. Kitso can wait. That means fast food chains. And among the various food chains scattered across the universe, Jollibee is my favorite. 'Coz Jollibee is a friend. And a bee :D

That's it, minna. Happy Birthday to my Anak :D

Photo Challenge Day 31!

Sorry, there has been some mistake. How silly of me. 30th is not silver! What happened to me? What I was thinking! I'm so sorry, guys... Ok... moving on...

Today's challenge wants me to post a picture of my favorite quote in my own handwriting which I find weird. I already posted a picture of my favorite quote, how can posting it in my handwriting change anything? Does the challenge simply want to see my handwriting? Given that, the challenge could just ask for anything else other than my favorite quote. It can ask to post a photo of my favorite word in my handwriting.Which I don't have, by the way. So, forget everything I've just said. I just realized, I'm stupid.

So, to comply with the challenge, here it is...

To, at least, give justice to this blog, I'll tell you, guys, how I came up with this quote and how it got to be my favorite. It was during one of the hottest days on Earth and I was in my 3rd year high school. One of my teachers was discussing about something, and then, out of nowhere, told us this. From then on, it became my favorite quote. As simple as that.

During the final interview in the job I was applying recently, the interviewer, a woman with exceptional speaking skills (I was quite intimidated, actually), asked me as to how I deal with stress. Believe me or not, this is what I came up...

"To be honest, Ma'am, I don't deal much with stress. Simply because I don't allow stress to enter my body and ruin everything. Sure, there are times when I have to face a problem 'coz it's, like, unavoidable. But I don't allow it to take much of me. I still deal with them in a sort of cool way. And if there are problems that are way too impossible to solve, I just laugh it out..."

See what I've been pointing out since yesterday?

All right... have a nice night ahead minna :D

Photo Challenge Day 30!

Can you believe it? I reached my 30th day on this challenge! Happy Silver Anniversary to all of us :D

So, today's challenge wants me to post a picture of my favorite quote. Which I definitely have. I mean, this is something not all have favorites to. So, it's quite surprising for me to get out of the norm and actually have my own favorite quote. Here it is...

I know it's funny when you first read it, but when you give time and understand the very essence of the sentence, you'll get the idea. You see, we all know that life is tough. It has a lot of problems. I can't argue with that. Even the richest people on Earth have problems too. They constantly think of ways to get more riches to make them, well, even more richer. Go figure. But we all forget the other option of not putting much thought to a problem 'coz we are in too deep with thinking of ways to solve it! See the logic? Why think so hard over a problem that seems too impossible to solve anyway? Why don't we just focus on the other side of life and actually live our lives in happiness?

I know it's arguable. And I'm open to anyone who wants to debate with me. But what I'm trying to say is that life is full of problems. They are very much given. Wherever you go, whatever you do, problems are there. So instead of delving much into a problem which is always present anyways, don't problem the problem... let the problem problems you!

Okay, that's it! Have a nice night ahead :D

Photo Challenge Day 29!

A picture that always make me smile. Hmmm. Today's challenge is tricky. There are a lot of things that make me smile. Whenever I look in the mirror, I smile. When I see food, I smile. When I see my toys, I smile. Even when I'm sleeping, I smile. There's just too many. So, let's see... Urgh!

I tried my best to think of that special something that really makes me smile whenever I see it. All I can come up with is this...

That's a screenshot of my Facebook oldest albums. Now, don't confuse the screenshot itself as my answer to today's challenge. But, rather, the pictures inside each album. Each album contains photos that really make me smile! Old photos of myself and my friends never fail to amuse me. And in most cases, entertain me. But there are times when I ask myself, "Is this really me?"

Day 29 done. Grab a coffee and enjoy life, guys :D

Photo Challenge Day 28!

No-brainer. Today's challenge is a no-brainer! Favorite place in the world? Piece of tiramisu! It's obviously my hometown.... Capul, Northern Samar. Look... here's Capul...

Thank you, Google Maps :D Here's a satellite view of my precious island....

Thank you again Google Maps.

And according to assignment-savior Wikipedia...

Capul is a fifth class island municipality in the province of Northern Samar, Philippines. According to the 2010 census, it has a population of 12,659 people. Prior to its founding as a town, Capul Island itself with its lighthouse built on the island, served as a guidepost for the Acapulco-Manila galleon trade vessels passing through the treacherous waters of San Bernardino Strait. It also served as the capital of Samar from 1848 to 1852. The name Capul came from the word Acapulco, an old trading post in Mexico.

Capul is the only town in the province of Northern Samar with a distinct language, Inabaknon, instead of Waray-Waray, the native language spoken by the locals of Samar island.

Capul is politically subdivided into 12 barangays.

Aguin
Jubang
Landusan
Oson
Poblacion Barangay 1
Poblacion Barangay 2
Poblacion Barangay 3
Poblacion Barangay 4
Poblacion Barangay 5
Sagaosawan
San Luis
Sawang

Capul has a different language from the rest of Northern Samar and the rest of Eastern Visayas. The native language in the island-municipality is Inabaknon. Inabaknon has been classified by linguists as a Sama language related to the Sama languages of Mindanao, rather than a Visayan language. Nonetheless the Capul people understand the Waray language, as spoken by the majority of the people in Northern Samar.

Tourism

Capul Church and Fortress
The church of Capul, built during the Spanish Colonial Period, is dedicated to St. Ignatius of Loyola and is surrounded by a square fort with bulwarks of dissimilar designs. The church structure was actually the third that was built on the site. The first two structures, made of hard wood and nipa roofs, were razed when Moro pirates plundered the island in 1615 and 1768. In 1781, Fr. Mariano Valero, a Spanish architect-priest led the restoration of the church and built the stonewall fortress similar to that in Intramuros, Manila that would fortify it against Moro attacks.

Capul Watchtower
Located on a hill near the Capul fort overlooking the town harbor, a stone watchtower was erected to serve as a sentry or warning system and a refuge for indigents during Moro raids.

Bitō Cave
Bitō Cave, also known as Beto Cave, is a popular natural attraction located in Sawang.

Timon-timon Rock
Timon-timon is a rudder-shaped rock formation located near the southern point of the island.

Capul Island Lighthouse
is a lighthouse on Titoog Point in San Luis on the northern tip of Capul Island, Northern Samar in the Philippines. It marks the western entrance to the San Bernardino Strait coming in from Ticao Pass. Construction on the lighthouse was started on October 1893 and it was first lit on December 1896 while the station was still partially complete. Work was suspended a month before on November 1896 on the onset of the Philippine Revolution. The Capul Island Lighthouse together with the Batag Island Lighthouse were declared provincial historical landmarks by the province of Northern Samar in October 2008.

You really are a savior, Wikipedia. You rock!

Day 28 is as easy as copy-paste :D

Photo Challenge Day 25!

I missed it... I hope you, too. But the long wait is over, y'all... welcome to the return of the 100 Day Photo Challenge! Hooray!

Before I start, though, I'd like to apologize for the uber delay of the challenge's comeback. You see, I have my reasons. Reasons that I don't have to mention because it'll take us 2 kilometers worth of webpage to finish the list. And we both don't like that... so just deal with this.

I left with Day 24, right? So today is my 25th day of doing this challenge. Happy Silver Anniversary! I'm in the verge of tears! *<tears slowly rushing through my cheeks... and then LOL>*

Today's challenge wants me to post a photo of yours truly taken last year. A very not challenging challenge, by the way. So... here it is...

Well, that's me, all right. But I won't say anything about myself. That would be so narcissistic, man. Just focus with the stuffed toy just left of my head. Can you see it? Good...

So that's it with today's challenge. See you all tomorrow :D

Photo Challenge Day 24!

All right. So, I broke a promise. I didn't keep my solemn oath to do this photo challenge everyday. You see, I've been away for a couple of days and I have to leave my laptop behind because it's not natural to bring it with me. I had to do some important stuff. And I hate to say this, but I have to, again, postpone this challenge until I'm free enough to do it. You see, I still have more important stuff to do and keeping this on a daily basis could take me away from those 'important stuff'. But, hey, no sweat. I promise to be back with more of this photo challenge when all of this 'important stuff' is over. Thanks a lot. So, here's my last photo challenge. For the meantime, of course...

Today's challenge wants me to post someone I miss. So the challenge basically wants me to be extra cheesy and a little bit sweet. Not to mention corny. But it happens once in a blue moon, so why not carry on with it. But I'm not gonna post someone, as in singular. Because I have four people in mind.

The first one is this... (Note: the photos are taken from their respective Facebook profile pages)

Yeah. That's my big brother. (You can't see his face, but obviously, he's the guy. With him is, uhm, his unofficial fiance, Ate Lanlan. Unofficial because the ritual of making it official is not up 'till this coming Saturday. And, my, this is a big news, everyone. But I'll not go to every detail yet. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say things in this blog. But one thing is for sure, I'm as excited as them :D) That's Beejay, but we call him Besce. And maybe a lot of brothers are on riot when they are together, but not us. We share a lot of common interests. Especially in gadgets. Especially. In. Gadgets! Next, video games, of course. We're on our twenty's right now but we are still loco with video games. We like to play same games and just compare our high scores. Brotherly competition, brah. Sure we have our own indifferences. Like the way he likes Racing Games and not Simulation, and me liking Simulation and not Racing. But that's alright. We still get along pretty well. We also have argument at times, but we always manage to get through with it. It can never be removed in brothers, man. It's part of the equation. But the most important thing is, at the end of the day, at the end of every challenging day, your love for a brother remains. *<aawww...>*

Next is...

And that is my little sister. (She's with what she calls 'Besfie'. They both like to believe that one of them is Emma Stone and the other is Taylor Swift. Just figure out who is who). One of my little sisters, actually. She's Larrielyn, but we call her Yenn.  For convenience, most of the times, for fun, sometimes. Now this girl, I can say, is I am closest with. We shared a lot of moments together compared to my other two siblings. No offense, guys (I mean to my two other siblings). For one, we're both Youths for Christ. We both share common passion. We both love doing service for the Church and for God. We've been into a lot of youth activities together inside and even outside of our hometown. To put it simply, we know each other so much. She shares my love when it comes to movies, music, and even in talk shows. We both love Ellen. And that is something!

Next is...

That is my other little sister (That's one of her millions of selfie's). Her name is Hillary. But we call her Yayie. Simply because my other sister couldn't say her name the right way. When we asked Yenn to say Yayie's real name, all she managed was Yayie. Well, at least her name got some cool history. When it comes to arguments, we pretty had a lot of it. But, of course, everything sets off overnight. Arguments of today are left behind the next morning. To give space for another new, fresher, intenser arguments. *<Laugh>*. That's us. But, hey, I love her. She's one of the few people who can make me laugh genuinely. She respects me too, man. She knows when and when not to mess with me. That's Yayie.

And lastly....

She's my closest friend. At the same time the farthest. And I've told of a lot of things about her to last a lifetime worth of nightmare. Kidding. Kidding again. *<Laugh>*. So I just put her picture here 'coz I really miss her (which you can't clearly see. For some reason, she made this photo of her at mid-air with a lot of cars at the back. I think she wants us to focus with the cars. Ok, cars). But I'll leave at that.

That's for today. I miss them and I'm always looking forward to spending quality time with them someday. Except for the last, of course. Me meeting her someday is still blurry. Good luck with that. Besides, there's Line :D

PS. I think someone would be really offended if I'll not include her on the list. I said I miss four pips. Apparently, I'm wrong. Here's the fifth.

That's Fides. She's the girl with the glasses. Oh, they both have glasses. She's the girl in the left. And in the right, is a clear shot of Ate Lanlan, my brother's girlfriend and soon to be... you get it. Fides is practically a sister of mine already. She's close to us. Even to our parents. And I told you, she's my number one supporter! A little trivia, she's the first follower of mine on this blogspot. And in every venture I took as far as the world wide web is concern, she's there. Like, all the time! So, who wouldn't miss a girl like this? Besides that, I've shared a fair share of memorable moments with her. In which most are already forgotten. But, hey, they are still memories. They just need some kicks to remember. She's a giver, too, I think. She gave my sister Yenn a bonnet which I have been so meaning to take from her by asking her politely to just give it to me. She gave my sister Yayie a digital watch (those kind of watch where you have to press it before it reveals the time) which was then taken from her by my sister Yenn and instead got herself another watch, analog this time. But, hey, they both have watches. She gave a gay family friend called Joseph or Otep a bunch of fake eyelashes. Her mother, through Fides, gave my mother an imported bag, my father an imported perfume, and my sisters imported perfumes. She gave a common friend of ours a jacket, a VARSITY JACKET at that. A FRIEND WE BOTH JUST KNEW FOR BARELY FOUR MONTHS NOW! NOTICED ANYTHING? SHE HAVEN'T GIVEN ME ANYTHING! WELL, UHM, YEAH, SHE GAVE ME SOMETHING ON MY GRADUATION DAY. A TRAFALGAR LAW HEADSET AND A COMPLETE SET OF THE MUGIWARA CREW'S WANTED POSTERS WITH AN ADDED BONUS OF SHANKS'S AND JIMBEI'S WANTED POSTERS. BUT THAT'S A SPECIAL OCCASION. PEOPLE OUGHT TO GIVE SOMETHING DURING SPECIAL OCCASIONS!!! AND I HAVEN'T RECEIVED ANYTHING FROM HER THAT I CAN LABEL WITH OH-KUYA-HAWOO-MIGHT-LIKE-THIS-SO-I'LL-GIVE-IT-TO-HIM SORT OF AN ITEM!!! ON THE OTHER HAND, I HAVEN'T GIVEN HER ANYTHING TOO. *<Long moment of silence>*. That explains it. Well, I'm calm now. *<Lol>*. BUT, HEY, DID THESE PEOPLE MENTIONED GIVE FIDES ANYTHING IN RETURN?!? I'M RAGED AGAIN! *<SHOUT FOR THIRTY MINUTES>*. Okay, I'm okay now. Maybe she has her reasons. Maybe mine would be so special that when she finally gives it to me, I would be like, "Oh, my, Fides! I love you! Thank you for this! I never expected it! A Trafalgar Law Jacket and a complete set of Mugiwara Crew action figures?!? This is too much! Thank you, thank you!". That's probably what she has in mind. And maybe she's preparing for it right now. Maybe she wanted to surprise me. That settles it. I'm excited now!

And in case you haven't noticed, Fides's part on this blog is the longest. Maybe she'll add a complete set of Fairy Tail characters action figures and a complete set of Lucy's celestial keys. That is awesome 0.o!
